The Context
The aquariums I create are all unique, living art, designed with ease in mind, set up to potentially outlive me. However the journey to get to this point has been far from easy. Without the mistakes I have made, and hardships, and failures, tank goodness could never have happened.

I originally got into aquariums from terrestrial plants and ecosystems.
What began as just another hobby, has been able to become an opportunity to make a living doing something I love. The images that follow show my journey of trials and tribulations through learning the set of skills required to create and maintain these little worlds.

My first successful aquarium, a simple shrimp tank.

The first tank I set up using the father fish method: a method of keeping fish in a way that utilizes the plants, microbes & processes of nature, to create a strong ecosystem in an aquarium. I have been using this method ever since, and have never looked back.
