Nearly two years ago, I put together, filled and planted this 60 gallon aquarium. This tank was used as a proof of concept of my ability to create high quality, functional ecosystems, as well as fine tune my hardscaping skills, and to test out the father fish method in a professional looking aquarium. To this day, this is my favorite tank I have ever created, and I intend to keep it running as long as possible. Almost 2 years later at the time of writing, and I have had to perform no water changes, use any medication, or any other chemicals or extreme maintenance. The plants need to be trimmed and the equipment checked about once every 2-3 months. That’s it. This tank even made it through Hurricane Helene.
